Review and keep AI text.
Read AI text before you keep it, then keep it or undo it in each AI tool
When the AI writes or rewrites text for you, read it before you keep it. Check the facts, names, dates and tone against your original. Then keep the result or undo it. This page shows how keeping works in each AI tool of DXPR Builder. Keeping a result and saving the page are separate steps.
The video rewrites an Open Day notice in a friendlier tone, checks it and keeps it.
Before you start
- AI is switched on, with Enable page creation assistant ticked. See Turn on AI in DXPR Builder.
- The page is open for editing in DXPR Builder, so the builder toolbar shows, and it has the text you want to rewrite. You do not need to select it: name it in your request.
- The Accept reviewed rewrite button only shows when your site administrator has switched on DXPR Onboarding. Without it, you keep a result by making your next change, see Keep or undo in each tool.
Set up
- Click AI Agent on the builder toolbar. The AI Content Generator panel opens.
- Describe the rewrite in the box, for example "Rewrite the Open Day text in an approachable tone".
- Click Generate content.
- Read the new text. Compare its facts, names and dates with your original. If something is wrong, press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) and ask again.
- Click Accept reviewed rewrite on the left of the page.
- Click Save on the builder toolbar.

What you see
While the AI works, a status line such as "Rewriting the selected content..." shows what it does. The new text then replaces the old text in the same elements. The Accept reviewed rewrite button appears on the left of the page. It disappears when you click it, or when you undo the rewrite.
Accepting tells DXPR Builder that you reviewed the text. Save stores the page, with or without AI text on it. Clicking outside the text or saving the page does not accept the AI text. AI text you have not kept still stays on the page and is saved with it; keeping only records that you reviewed it. To remove AI text, undo it.
Keep or undo in each tool
Every AI tool puts its result on the page straight away. You keep it, or you undo it.
| Where you asked the AI | Keep the result | Undo the result |
|---|---|---|
| AI Agent on the builder toolbar | Click Accept reviewed rewrite (rewrites only), or make your next change on the page | Press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac), or choose an earlier step in Show history |
| Edit with AI in an element's More menu | Make your next change on the page | Press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) |
| AI Chat | Make your next change on the page | Click Undo under "Content generated." in the chat |
| AI Agent in the text toolbar of a Text element | Keep typing or editing in that text | Click Undo in the text toolbar |
Your next change can be small. Edit a word of the new text and click outside it, or add an element. A change that the builder records in Show history keeps the AI result before it.
Keep AI text in the text toolbar
- Click the paragraph on the page. The text toolbar appears above it.
- Click the arrow next to AI Agent and choose Polish.
- Read the new text.
- Keep working in the text, for example add a sentence. Your first edit keeps the AI text.
To throw the AI text away, click Undo in the text toolbar, or press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac). See Rewrite text with AI for all commands.
If you don't see the Accept reviewed rewrite button
- There is no Accept reviewed rewrite button after a rewrite. DXPR Onboarding is off on this site. Make your next change on the page to keep the rewrite, or ask your site administrator to switch on DXPR Onboarding.
- The button does not show after a new section or a translation. The button is for rewrites only. Keep other results by making your next change on the page.
- The rewrite changed a name, a date or a link. The AI can rephrase facts. Press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) and ask again, for example "Rewrite the Open Day text in an approachable tone and keep all names and dates".
- The AI Agent button is missing from the builder toolbar. Enable page creation assistant is off. Ask your site administrator to tick it at
/admin/dxpr_studio/dxpr_builder/ai_settings.
What's next?
- Translate content with AI: translate a section and keep the translation.
- Explore the AI content tools: try all six ways the AI can write for you.
- Change a section with AI: add to or rebuild one section.
- Undo and redo: step back through your changes.
