United States Senate Sergeant at Arms

# United States Senate: A fast launch for urgent public oversight.

During the COVID-19 emergency, the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) team uses DXPR to bring the Congressional Oversight Commission online on a very short deadline. The same toolkit supports senator websites and the Senate Radio–TV Gallery.

 ## The outcome:
a public oversight site,
live on deadline.

A new commission needs a public home while emergency programs are already under way. DXPR helps the SAA team move from an urgent brief to a working website.

### Oversight the public can follow.

Reports and hearing information make scrutiny of emergency economic support accessible from one public website.

### Senate sites. One shared toolkit.

Senator offices, the Radio–TV Gallery and the oversight commission use the same Drupal page-building products.

### A crisis deadline met.

The SAA team brings the Congressional Oversight Commission website online on a very short deadline, using DXPR’s visual builder and theme.

## Public accountability
cannot wait for
a long web project.

In 2020, the deadline is driven by a national emergency.

The CARES Act creates the bipartisan Congressional Oversight Commission to scrutinize the Treasury and Federal Reserve’s emergency economic support. Its work needs to be visible: reports, hearing announcements, statements and information about the commissioners.

The Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) team has to turn that remit into a public website quickly. At the same time, it supports a wider family of sites with different audiences, from constituents seeking help from a senator’s office to broadcasters covering the Senate.

The team needs a familiar way to build the next site, without a new custom development project for every page.

## Build visually.
Publish within
the Senate’s platform.

DXPR Builder and DXPR Theme give the team a visual page-building toolkit inside Drupal. The commission’s homepage puts the latest report first, followed by news and a clear route to information about its members.

The same approach supports different Senate sites without forcing them into an identical design. Teams can arrange the content for their audience while keeping the work within the SAA’s established authoring and public-server setup.

## A shared toolkit
across Senate websites.

The commission is part of a broader Senate rollout. DXPR’s products support public information, press services and senator offices, each with its own content and identity.

The common advantage is a familiar publishing toolkit that the SAA team can put to work for the next launch.
