International Rescue Committee — Kulea Watoto

# International Rescue Committee: make program learning easier to find and use

IRC’s Kulea Watoto initiative ran from 2022 to 2025, linking early-childhood development with caregiver livelihoods in Uganda. Its Drupal website used DXPR to give the program’s work a place online.

 ## The outcome:
more learning shared,
less production work.

A program’s lessons can outlast its funding cycle. Clear resource pages help partners discover the learning and understand why it matters.

## A learning brief is only useful when it reaches someone.

Publishing the report is the beginning of sharing the knowledge.

Kulea Watoto brought together two connected needs: young children’s development and their caregivers’ economic wellbeing. Explaining that relationship takes more than a title and a PDF download.

Program staff need to draw out the key findings, explain the setting and connect readers with the full evidence. Rebuilding those pages uses time that could go into helping partners understand and apply the work.

Carry the learning beyond the project meeting and the funding cycle.

## Give each learning brief
a useful home online.

A DXPR resource page can introduce the question, highlight the findings and lead to the full document. Images and supporting links sit beside the explanation, giving readers a reason to explore the evidence.

Reusing that format reduces the assembly work for the next brief. Program specializts can concentrate on accuracy and interpretation while communications staff prepare the page in Drupal.

IRC’s public program announcement, partnership story and Uganda page provide context for this 2022–2025 initiative.

> The lasting value of a program includes what others can learn from it. That learning needs to be easy to find, understand and share.
